Kana's Solo Exhibition
"Perspective"
Coming to
New Zealand

Mizuhiki has always been a symbol of connection. Now, that spirit begins a new journey across the Pacific. Through this exhibition, we hope to discover the shared threads that connect Japan and New Zealand, and to celebrate new friendships and lasting cultural ties.

Our journey to New Zealand began with an exhibition in Kanazawa, Japan, in 2025. We invite you to look back at the exhibition that marked the beginning of this exciting chapter.

Everyday is a miracle!

When the earthquake happened on New Year’s Day 2024 in Noto, Japan, I could not move because of broken bones. One unexpected event followed another, and I was compelled to recognise just how oblivious I was of the miraculous nature of everyday life. The ‘PERSPECTIVES’ idea began there!

Please pause to contemplate! When our perspectives change, we discover new insights. So welcome to the world of black and white Mizuhiki clover.

Do you hear nature speaking?
“Hey, look at me!  I am special because I have four petals!”

In the world of four petaled black clovers, there is just one three petaled black clover and you express delight.

“Hey look, I found one clover with three petals!”

Is three petaled clover more precious than four petaled?

The one with three petals are in the shape of a triangle. Do they look cute or amazing?

That’s not all…

The world where black and white clovers co-exist, where two blend creating “Harmony”. Is this miraculous!

Perhaps it’s when we strive to overcome struggles, a world of vivid contrast comes into being?

Black or white…when we are one-sided, without harmony, it burdens us.

Don’t you agree that it’s much more joyful when there’s a little bit of everything?
